I was in the shower and discovered a lump. My sister had been diagnosed with breast cancer the year before so I was terrified. I called Mr Fazel’s office. His team were wonderful, they arranged an appointment that same evening where I saw Mr Fazel, had my scans and a biopsy. Fortunately it was a benign lump but I was so grateful to Mr Fazel and his team for being so fantastic and reassuring me so quickly.

I was found to have breast cancer through the screening programme and needed a mastectomy. I wanted an immediate breast reconstruction as I couldn’t bear the thought of being without any breasts, so I went to see Mr Fazel in the Spire Thames Valley as I had heard he did this frequently. I was very impressed by the time he spent with me, showing me pictures, explaining all my options and helping me though the whole process. Katie the breast care nurse was so kind too. I have now had the reconstruction and am so thrilled with the result, I imagine not having had one.

I had to have my cancerous lump removed but didn’t want to lose my breast (which is what I was advised when I saw a surgeon in the NHS). My GP recommended I seek a second opinion from Mr Fazel, who went through several options with me. In the end, I was able to keep my breasts by having a type of breast reduction. I am really pleased with the results but more importantly, Mr Fazel and his team have been great at supporting me and my family.
